Competence-based approaches in organizational and individual context

Abstract With an increasing pace of digitalization, automatization, and robotization, firms need to quickly anticipate new consumer values, trends, needs adjust their production, thus requiring constant adaptation competences competence-based models. This review: (1) briefly outlines the development models; (2) presents difficulties when defining delineating differences between competences, skills, abilities; (3) main challenges competence measurement; (4) recent findings models in organizational individual context; (5) highlights these are likely encounter future. To this end, a non-systematic literature review was carried out summarize relevant published research studies define future directions. Results show that further should focus on generalizing by looking at various groups workers industries, expanding set used analyses, using different definitions key developing alternative assess impact performance. Such would allow better employees’ preparedness terms requirements, as well identify most critical gaps opportunities for formal educational system part on-the-job training.
